#JerezWorldSBK – How have WorldSBK teams fared in Spain?

Aprilia holds the record for podium finishes around Jerez with nine, all scored from 2013 to 2015. Their impressive performances include a double in 2013 and a double 1-2 in 2014. Last year they were able to finish in the top-10 with Lorenzo Savadori, who was 10th in Race 2. The four wins for Aprilia here were recorded by Marco Melandri in 2014, and Eugene Laverty in 2013. France the setting for a tense race two 

Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) took an excellent victory in Race 2 at the Pirelli French Round, seizing control in the opening stages and not looking back from there to eventually cross the line three seconds ahead of nearest challenger Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team). Completing the podium in third was Lowes’ Yamaha colleague Michael van der Mark after a great battle between the pair.

As the Pirelli French Round commenced on Friday morning the World Champion led the way from Camier and Savadori

As the WorldSBK riders commenced their work at the Pirelli French Round early on Friday it was Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) who set the pace in FP1, lapping the 4.411km Magny-Cours circuit with a 1’37.849 time.

Sykes recovering well after successful operation

The 2013 WorldSBK World Champion has had surgery in Barcelona after a Saturday crash at Portimao

Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) has undergone surgery on the fracture he sustained on his finger following his crash on Saturday in Portugal. The operation took place on Sunday (17th September) at the iMove Traumatology centre of the Mi Tres Torres Clinic in Barcelona and a rapid, favorable recovery is expected.
