Due to the heavy rain, the first laps were completed behind the safety car before the race got underway on lap eight.

Guest driver Harry Tincknell wins sprint race

British driver Harry Tincknell (Carlin) scored a lights-to-flag victory in the eleventh season round of the Formula 3 Euro Series.

F3 Formula 3 EuroseriesHe crossed the finish line 0.419 seconds ahead of Felix Serralles (Fortec Motorsport). After 22 laps, Pascal Wehrlein (Mücke Motorsport) ended up as the best-placed rookie, finishing third in the race at the 2.3 kilometres long Norisring. In the Euro Series drivers’ standings, Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam) remains in the lead. His margin over William Buller (Carlin) is still eight points.

There were six new faces on show: Carmen Jorda (Ocean Racing Technology), Kotaro Sakurai (Status Grand Prix), Tom Blomqvist (Status Grand Prix), Kevin Ceccon (Trident Racing) and John Wartique (Atech CRS GP).
