Now that he has retired from full-time competition, Clint Bowyer will pilot the No. 14 Ford in 2017.
Reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Earns Additional Hardware at Awards Show
The 24th annual ESPY Awards got a little “rowdy” as reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Kyle Busch was named Best Driver at last night’s ceremony. He received the most votes among fellow nominees 2015 IndyCar Series Champion Scott Dixon, 2015 Formula One World Driver’s Champion Lewis Hamilton, 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner Alexander Rossi, and 2015 NHRA Pro Stock Champion Erica Enders-Stevens.

A wreck involving Tony Stewart on Lap 68 brought out the second red flag of the Sprint Unlimited. Stewart was running inside the top three at the time of the wreck, when he appeared to get loose and then made contact with Greg Biffle. The red flag was withdrawn within a few minutes.

Although it will only debut in 2016, the American outfit Haas Formula has announced a name tweak. The team is now called Haas F1 Team, with the name-change decision made by founder and chairman Gene Haas “to better correlate his team with motor racing’s most prestigious series”.

Tony Stewart struck and killed a fellow driver with his sprint car late Saturday night during a dirt-track race at Canandaigua (N.Y.) Motorsports Park, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department announced early Sunday morning.
