The Swiss driver crossed the start finish line after just 3m16.887 to complete a lap of the 14km circuit in the first qualifying session, smashing the previous qualifying lap record of 3m18.513 set by Stéphane Sarrazin in a Peugeot 908 HDI-FAP.

Second straight pole position for Peugeot’s British ace
Seeking a third straight victory at Road Atlanta, Team Peugeot Total is on pole position again for the 14th annual Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda. Anthony Davidson set a blistering 1:07.428 (135.611 mph) lap in qualifying Friday in the diesel-powered Peugeot 908 coupe that he will drive in Saturday’s 1,000-mile/10-hour race with Sébastien Bourdais and Simon Pagenaud.
New Ford GT-R fastest during damp Thursday afternoon session
Rob Bell made a bit of history Thursday afternoon at Road Atlanta with the fastest lap in a wet second practice session for Petit Le Mans powered by MAZDA 2. The British driver set the time in the new Robertson Racing Ford GT-R that he is driving with David Murry and Anthony Lazzaro.
Porsche wins in class for first time since 2007
Porsche factory driver Wolf Henzler won at the 24 Hours of the Le Mans for the first time Sunday, the German winning in GT2 for Team Felbermayr Proton and its Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. Henzler – who drives for Team Falken Tire with Bryan Sellers in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón – won by two laps with Marc Lieb and Richard Lietz.
