When 51 ACT Late Model stock cars arrive at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road on Sunday, October 14th for the 50th People’s United Bank Milk Bowl, an extra incentive will be on their minds: Curley’s $50,000 Challenge. The challenge, put out by long-time Promoter Tom Curley, is a $50,000 bonus to any driver that can win all three segments of the year-end Milk Bowl.

Thunder Road officials have announced that the winner of the Vermont Governor’s Cup 150 sponsored by the VT State Lottery Commission on this Thursday, July 12, will also earn an invite to the Bond Auto ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 22.

Competitors to return to Barre’s Thunder Road for Governor’s Cup
The 2012 Vermont State Stock Car Championship Series heats up just in time for the crown jewel of the four race series: The VT State Lottery Commission Governor ’s Cup 150 at Thunder Road. Milton’s Brent Dragon leads the swarming field to the “Nation’s Site of Excitement” on Thursday, July 12 with a slim 6-point lead over multi-time Thunder Road Champion Phil Scott.
The 26th running of the CARQUEST Vermont Governor’s Cup 150 is expected to be viewed by the biggest crowd of the 2009 season and quite possibly the largest crowd in Thunder Road International Speedbowl history.
