Nicolas Lapierre will return for a sixth FIA World Endurance Championship season and will defend his LMP2 title with the Signatech Alpine team
The Frenchman, who won the championship crown with Gustavo Menezes and Stéphane Richelmi in 2016, has been retained but his team mates have yet to be announced. With Californian Menezes being upgraded to gold status for 2017 the same trio will not be able to race together again LMP2 rules require that each car must have at least one silver or bronze-ranked driver.
6 Hours of Fuji
The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) kicks off its Asian tour with the 6 Hours of Fuji in Japan. Having already won four races this season, Nicolas Lapierre, Stéphane Richelmi and Gustavo Menezes will as always be aiming to top the podium and move a step closer to the LMP2 title.
Porsche denies Toyota at Le Mans in dramatic last lap win
From midnight the duel between Porsche and Toyota for the 24 hour Le Mans race win had intensified but no-one would have expected such an ending. Before the final lap, Toyota seemed to be coming out on top but then the prototype stopped on track.

After points-scoring finishes for both Alpine A460s at the championship’s opening round at Silverstone, Great Britain, Signatech-Alpine has its sights set on a podium finish this weekend. The Belgian race will serve as an important dress rehearsal ahead of the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours (June 18-19).

Blancpain Sprint Series – Round 1 – Nogaro Coupes de Pâques
Stéphane Ortelli and Stéphane Richelmi took the win in the Qualifying Race of the opening event of the 2015 Blancpain Sprint Series in Nogaro. The #3 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi led almost all the race, even though Maxime Martin and Dirk Müller in the #77 BMW Sports Trophy Team Brasil BMW were never far away and kept the Monegasque drivers under pressure.
