Marc Marquez finished the two-day test on top of the timesheets as the 2016 MotoGP™ season got underway in Valencia
Having spent most of Tuesday at the Comunitat Valenciana – Ricardo Tormo adjusting to the new Michelin tyres and specification changes to next year’s bikes, Wednesday saw a number of riders get a chance to work on their 2016 bikes and setups and focus on gathering data for next year. Every single MotoGP™ rider improved their times from Tuesday as they continued to adapt to the new machinery, with Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez setting the quickest time over the two days, a 1’31.060.
Marc Marquez went quickest in Friday morning’s Free Practice 1 ahead of Lorenzo and Pedrosa with Rossi in fifth.
Repsol Honda’s Marquez put the Malaysian GP behind him by topping FP1 at the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valencia. The Spaniard set a 1’31.250, just over a second off his own Pole Record from last season (1’30.237), in sunny and dry conditions (Track temp. 22˚C) at the Comunitat Valenciana – Ricardo Tormo circuit.

Repsol Honda Team’s Marc Marquez was the quickest rider in today’s practice sessions at the Phillip Island circuit, the reigning MotoGP™ World Champion setting a time of 1’29.383 to lead a tightly-packed field on the opening day of action at the Australian Grand Prix.
Round 12: British MotoGP™ race report
A late change in the weather set the scene for a dramatic British Grand Prix and in the first wet race of the MotoGP™ season it was Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Valentino Rossi who took a brilliant victory ahead of the Ducati duo of Danilo Petrucci and Andrea Dovizioso.
It was a record-breaking weekend at Assen with Rossi setting a new Circuit Best Lap record
At last Saturday’s Dutch Grand Prix, Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Valentino Rossi consolidated his lead of the MotoGP™ championship standings with a hard-fought victory over Repsol Honda Team’s Marc Marquez and fellow Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo who finished in second and third place respectively.

Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez clinched his third successive Grand Prix of the Americas victory as the MotoGP™ World Champion won today in Austin ahead of Ducati Team’s Andrea Dovizioso and Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Valentino Rossi who finished in second and third place respectively.
