Last weekend, Alain Prost completed a series of parade laps in the Renault Classic
The ninth Grand Prix Historique de Monaco saw Renault ambassador Alain Prost get behind the wheel of the Renault F1 Turbo (RE40) he raced in the Formula 1 World Championship in 1983 when he claimed four victories and second place in the end-of-year Drivers’ standings.
Caterham F1 Team has confirmed that Reserve Driver Giedo van der Garde will be taking part in the City Racing Rotterdam event on 26th August in Holland.

Both the Caterham F1 Team race drivers have taken part in previous City Racing events, with Heikki Kovalainen driving a Renault F1 car in 2008 and Vitaly Petrov also in a Renault F1 car in 2010 in the Netherlands’ largest Formula 1 event.
He joined the team as Performance Director
Team Lotus has today confirmed that John Iley, one of the leading aerodynamicists in global motorsport, has joined the team as Performance Director, heading up all aerodynamics, CFD and related activity for the team and reforming the successful partnership he previously enjoyed with Mike Gascoyne at Jordan and Renault F1.

Czech driver Jan Charouz will participate in the young driver test which is taking place from today Tuesday until Thursday the 17th of November at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Charouz will be behind the wheel of the F111 tomorrow and will step aside, that same day, for Nathanael Berthon once the Czech driver will complete the programme established for him by the team.

Renault team boss Eric Boullier has admitted he is working hard to bring Romain Grosjean back to formula one. French broadcaster TF1’s commentator Christophe Malbranque announced last week that 24-year-old Grosjean is set to be the team’s third driver in 2011.

Group Lotus’ move into formula one risks damaging the historic brand and bringing the sport into disrepute. That is the charge of David Hunt, the brother of 1976 world champion James Hunt who held the rights to the ‘Team Lotus’ name for years until recently selling it to Tony Fernandes’ outfit.

Weeks ago, as the Lotus name dispute was developing amid rumours Group Lotus was eyeing a separate F1 foray, Tony Fernandes’ team announced it would abandon its green and yellow livery of 2010.

‘Team Lotus’ on Wednesday indicated it is in no mood to give in despite Group Lotus entering formula one for 2011. F1 is now facing the bizarre situation of one team – Tony Fernandes’ Team Lotus – being known as Lotus-Renault, while the Renault F1 team is officially Lotus Renault GP.
Massa out, Barrichello’s team once again hot favorite in the endurance karting race
Former Renault F1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr. and ex-Indycar star Christian Fittipaldi will join forces in this year’s edition of the traditional Granja Viana 500 Mile karting race. The duo decided to challenge Rubens Barrichello’s hot favorite team on November 27th at Granja Viana International Karting track after regular Fittipaldi team mate Mario Haberfeld have announced that will miss the event due to personal commitments.

Mike Gascoyne has questioned Group Lotus’ apparent intention to enter formula one next year in collaboration with the Renault team. Gascoyne is the technical boss at the team currently known as Lotus Racing, but the official naming license has been revoked by Group Lotus for 2011 and beyond.

Carlos Ghosn has admitted there are moves afoot to change the nature of French carmaker Renault’s association with the F1 team that currently bears its name. The marque’s president attended Sunday’s Brazilian grand prix amid rumours Renault is set to further distance itself from F1 as Group Lotus looks to get involved with the Enstone based team.

Tony Fernandes has denied his Malaysian formula one team Lotus is set to change its name ahead of the 2011 season. When the team and Renault confirmed their engine supply collaboration in Brazil on Friday, neither party referred to Fernandes’ outfit as ‘Lotus’.
