Audette sweeps at Watkins Glen

The third win of 2011 didn’t come easy for Audette in a huge field 

F2000 new logoRemy Audette made it two wins at Watkins Glen in two days, three on the season, and added to his quickly growing championship lead on a Sunday in New York. Audette, now with an impressive six-straight top four finishes, started second and had to fight his way to the point in the #21 Audette Racing Van Diemen from third place, passing Chris Livengood and then Tim Minor for the lead a few laps later. Audette victorious at Watkins Glen

A wild start for F2000 at Watkins Glen, Audette won his second race of 2011 

Remy Audette raced down Kyle Connery and took the lead at Watkins Glen to notch his second win of 2011 and extend his points lead over Connery, who finished second and led the first half of the race. Audette Paces Practice at Watkins Glen

Audette was out in front at Watkins Glen by a huge margin

Championship points leader Remy Audette stayed on the point during practice at Watkins Glen, setting a very fast lap of 1:51.9 , well under the existing track record of 1:53.0. The Canadian easily paced both 30-minute practice sessions in the #21 Audette Racing Van Diemen, and was an underheard-of-for-F2000 full second up on anyone else in the afternoon. Audette won by nine seconds at VIR

Remy Audette led flag-to-flag, from pole, to win the second F2000 Series race of the weekend at VIRginia International Raceway over rookie Kyle Connery and Tim Minor. Audette set fast lap en-route to victory, as he lowered the track record during qualifying and then ran away from a stout field during the race, to win by nine seconds. Audette breaks track record for VIR pole

Audette was out in front by three tenths

Remy Audette took pole at VIRginia International Raceway, smashing the standing track record by more than half a second, turning in a lap at 1:53.929. The Canadian has so far paced testing and practice throughout the weekend, but battled through a tough qualifying and messy race on Saturday to finish in fourth as he charged through the field in the rain. Australian rookie Daniel Erickson made it two VIR poles, setting a lap time during qualifying for race two of the F2000 weekend at VIR that no-one else could get near. The 22-year old set the track record yesterday and was three tenths slower today, but four tenths up on outside pole sitter Remy Audette.  For Erickson, it will be another rolling start.
