Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia kept the No. 3 Corvette Racing Corvette C7.R up front throughout most of Sunday’s Michelin GT Challenge at VIRginia International Raceway, and then prevailed in a one-lap sprint to the checkered flag to win their first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race of the season.

A debut in Central America: In 2016 the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) will be held for the first time in Mexico City. When Porsche enters the 919 Hybrid into the fifth round of the WEC on September 1st to 3rd this also means a return. Back in 1954, a class win at the famous road race “Carrera Panamericana” proved to be groundbreaking for the company.

This weekend the Le Mans Prototype Porsche 919 Hybrid has its only 2016 appearance in Germany. At the six-hour race at the Nürburgring, the fourth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the series’ leader fights for points for its title defence. At the same time its mission is the technology of future sports cars.

United Autosports returns to Le Mans just three weeks after the Anglo-American team placed second and fifth in the “Road to Le Mans” race – this time turning back the clock to compete in the Le Mans Classic for the first time next weekend (8-10 July). United Autosports takes a 1986 Porsche 962 that was phenomenally successful in North America during the mid-1980s.

Porsche denies Toyota at Le Mans in dramatic last lap win
From midnight the duel between Porsche and Toyota for the 24 hour Le Mans race win had intensified but no-one would have expected such an ending. Before the final lap, Toyota seemed to be coming out on top but then the prototype stopped on track.
After 20 hours
The thrilling fight for the win at Le Mans between Toyota and Porsche has gone on for hours, with the final stages of the 24-Hours race approaching. Until shortly before 11:00 hrs the number 2 Porsche 919 Hybrid with Marc Lieb (DE) at the wheel was leading, just now Toyota has gone back into P1 again.
After 14 hours
In the early morning hours the number 2 Porsche 919 Hybrid of Romain Dumas (FR), Neel Jani (CH) and Marc Lieb (DE) is fighting for the lead in Le Mans with the number 6 Toyota. An exciting virtual duel has developed as the two cars have different refuelling intervals.
