Danish driver takes light-to-flag victory at Sochi Autodrom
Lotus F1 protégé Marco Sorensen has claimed his and MP Motorsport’s first GP2 win in today’s sprint race at Sochi from pole position. The Dane remained in control throughout an eventful race to cross the finish line 0.6s ahead of McLaren test driver Stoffel Vandoorne. Williams F1 third driver Felipe Nasr charged to third place.
DAMS ace wins first ever GP2 race in Russia to take the Series crown
He did it! Following a stellar 2014 season, Jolyon Palmer has been crowned the tenth GP2 Series Champion after he won today’s dramatic feature race at Sochi Autodrom sustaining pressure from Mitch Evans in the final stages. Raffaele Marciello completed the podium.
Identical laptimes for both drivers, but Belgian ace claims top spot
McLaren test driver Stoffel Vandoorne has claimed his third pole position in a row in today’s exciting qualifying session at Sochi Autodrom. With an identical laptime of 1:45.002, Arthur Pic takes P2 ahead of Vandoorne’s teammate Takuya Izawa.
