Bapco 6 Hours of Bahrain – The Le Mans winners are the new World Champions
The final round of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship was an emotional one at the Bahrain International Circuit, with champions crowned, farewells to firm friends, and drama along the way. At the six-hour race in Bahrain the Porsche trio of Romain Dumas (FR), Neel Jani (CH) and Marc Lieb (DE) secured the drivers’ title in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Start-finish win and manufacturers’ title for Porsche 919 Hybrid
A fourth win of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship for the No.1 Porsche 919 Hybrid crew of Timo Bernhard, Mark Webber and Brendon Hartley secured a second consecutive 2016 FIA World Endurance Manufacturer title for the German marque with one round remaining.

The No.6 Toyota Gazoo Racing trio of Kamui Kobayashi, Stephane Sarrazin and Mike Conway won a highly memorable 6 Hours of Fuji this afternoon after a gripping contest throughout the entire duration of the race.

After 20 hours
The thrilling fight for the win at Le Mans between Toyota and Porsche has gone on for hours, with the final stages of the 24-Hours race approaching. Until shortly before 11:00 hrs the number 2 Porsche 919 Hybrid with Marc Lieb (DE) at the wheel was leading, just now Toyota has gone back into P1 again.
After 14 hours
In the early morning hours the number 2 Porsche 919 Hybrid of Romain Dumas (FR), Neel Jani (CH) and Marc Lieb (DE) is fighting for the lead in Le Mans with the number 6 Toyota. An exciting virtual duel has developed as the two cars have different refuelling intervals.
After 10 hours
The 24 Hours of Le Mans finally underway!
After a very wet start and lots of close battles, four hours into the race the two Porsche 919 Hybrids are running in first (Bernhard/Hartley/Webber) and fourth (Dumas/Jani/Lieb) at the Le Mans 24 Hours. The leading Porsche is only 23 seconds ahead of the fastest Toyota.
Rain affected both of the two-hour sessions today
For its second Le Mans 24 Hours bow, the #50 Corvette C7.R successfully went through the ACO’s mandatory technical scrutineering
60 teams across all four classes of racing took to the 13.6km Circuit de la Sarthe today for eight hours of testing
