Norman Nato tops Day 1 session at Jerez

Racing Engineering man leads the way in second GP2 pre-season test
GP2 - Norman Nato (Racing Engineering) The GP2 Series field is back on track this week for the second 2016 pre-season test session at Circuito de Jerez, Spain. The paddock was greeted by blue skies but cold temperatures. When the pitlane turned green, it was Alex Lynn who fed onto the track first but he was closely followed by his teammate Nicholas Latifi and the rest of the pack.

Formula Renault 3.5 Series: Oliver Rowland’s perfect start (updated)

Formula Renault 3.5 Series leader, Oliver Rowland (Fortec Motorsports) came up big on Sunday at Budapest.

After a perfect launch from fifth place on the grid, the Racing Steps Foundation protégé overtook pole winner Matthieu Vaxiviere (Lotus) for the lead and went on to control the passing attempts of his rival throughout the 27 lap of the race. With his runner-up finish, the French driver now trails the Englishman by 16 points in the championship. Also starting from row three, rookie Gustav Malja (Strakka Racing) scored his maiden podium result in the category.

Vaxiviere scores second pole at SpaThird overall, Matthieu Vaxiviere (Lotus) scored his second pole position of the season with a 1:58.768 finish.The Lotus F1 Team Junior driver posted the fastest time to beat out Dutchman Beitske Visser (AVF). The female racer then lost all her times for a non conformity on the checked position concerning the position of the flat bottom.
