With his Audi RS 5 DTM, he ended up ahead of already-crowned DTM champion Marco Wittmann. At the finish, the Swede had an advantage of 7.4 seconds. With Martin Tomczyk, another BMW driver claimed the final podium slot.

While the points’ leader had to make do with seventh place in qualifying at the Lausitzring, his Swedish rival secured second place with his Audi RS 5 DTM. Pascal Wehrlein (Mercedes-Benz), the youngest DTM driver in the field at 19, will be starting from pole position for the first time.

Mercedes-Benz driver Robert Wickens crowned a perfect weekend of racing at Norisring with his first victory of the season. In slippery conditions at the 2.3 kilometres long street circuit, the Canadian converted his pole position in an undisputed lights-to-flag victory.

Robert Wickens secured himself pole position for the Norisring DTM race. In qualifying for the fourth season round, the Canadian reached a lap time of 47.883 seconds with his DTM Mercedes AMG C-Coupé and will thus start from first place on the grid for the second tome in his DTM career.
