Series leaders Laurens Vanthoor and Robin Frijns have taken the win in the Main Race of the Algarve round of the Blancpain Sprint Series.
This was the Belgian-Dutch duo’s third Main Race win of the season. In second place, Markus Winkelhock and Niki Mayr-Melnhof scored their best result since the start of their collaboration in the Blancpain Sprint Series, while the #333 Rinaldi Racing Ferrari of Marco Seefried and Norbert Siedler managed to hold off the #84 Bentley Team HTP Continental to take third.

The next round of the Blancpain GT Series is the second of the Endurance races, in Silverstone in two weeks’ time.
Blancpain Sprint Series – Round 2 Brands Hatch – Day 1
An almost perfect lap gave Laurens Vanthoor pole position for the qualifying race in Brands Hatch. With his #1 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi, he was over four tenths of a second quicker than Nick Catsburg in the #88 Reiter Engineering Lamborghini and Christopher Mies in the #2 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi.

Cesar Ramos and Laurens Vanthoor score their first Main Race win of the season
With four Qualifying Race wins, but none in a Main Race, Laurens Vanthoor and Cesar Ramos had a point to prove at the Baku World Challenge. Ramos managed to get off the line swiftly, beating Jonny Adam in the sprint to the first chicane and holding on to the lead during the whole first part of the season finale.
Stephane Ortelli on top after exciting Baku World Challenge qualifying session in Round 7
Reigning FIA GT Series champion Stephane Ortelli took pole position for the final round of the 2014 Blancpain Sprint Series, beating his former teammate and co-champion Laurens Vanthoor by less than one tenth of a second. Jeroen Bleekemolen managed to claim third in his Grasser Lamborghini, while Stefano Colombo took pole position in the Silver Cup. Marc Basseng was quickest of the drivers in the Pro-Am Trophy, before severely damaging his #5 Phoenix Racing Audi at the end of Q1.
