Kyle Connery grabbed the lead on lap one from the outside front row in the rain at Lime Rock Park and never looked back, pulling out a huge margin to win over Roberto Lorena and Federico Monsconi, in a podium sweep for Van Diemens and aspiring racers.

La Rocca took his third pole in four races at Road Atlanta.

F2000 Championship Series logoRobert La Rocca continued the success following his third straight win of 2012 on Friday, by vaulting to pole in an early morning qualifying session for round two of the Road Atlanta F2000 Championship Series weekend, smashing the existing track record with a lap of 1:24.373. La Rocca makes it three for three

La Rocca leads a tight battle for the lead

F2000 Championship Series logoRobert La Rocca made it three wins in three starts in 2012, winning at Road Atlanta on Friday morning after trading the lead back and forth throughout the 18-lap race with rookie Wyatt Gooden, who started from pole. La Rocca eventually separated from Gooden, who went on to finish second, his best F2000 performance to date for Quantum Racing Services, with Kyle Connery following in third place. What will 2012 bring?

F2000 Championship Series logoThe seventh F2000 Championship Series season, which starts April 12-15 at VIR, may be the most unpredictable one yet, with a full, one-class, 30-car plus field expected, and a chassis shuffle happening throughout the grid. 2011 Series Champion Remy Audette is off to sports cars, but the men who finished behind him in the points are all expected back, along with a contingent of young aspiring and proven rookies ready for more than four and a half hours of track time in Virginia. Connery shooting for 2012 title with a RFR

F2000 Championship Series logo2011 Rookie of the Year standout Kyle Connery will be back in 2012 to run for the F2000 Championship Series title, only this time switching from his no. 91 Van Diemen to a new RFR chassis. Connery finished third in the 2011 title fight, driving for CC Autosport with James Lee Racing, winning six races along the way, including sweeping Road Atlanta and the season finale at Watkins Glen.

Rémy Audette wins the 2011 Championship!

F2000 Championship Series…

This weekend, Rémy Audette became the first Québec driver to ever win the F2000 Championship Series. With a big lead heading into the final double-header of the season, Audette was not happy just earning sufficient points to solidify his spot at the top of the series. He dominated the practices and qualifying on his way to finishing on the podium for both races.

Connery ends 2011 F2000 season with a win

F2000 new logoKyle Connery took his sixth win of 2011, and second of the day, to end the F2000 Championship Series season with a daring move on 2011 Champion Remy Audette on a restart in round 14. Connery would run away from the pack, although the race did end under caution. Connery’s sweep of Watkins Glen vaulted him to third in points, winning Rookie of the Year for CC Autosport. Rob Nicholas won the Masters Class, finishing second ahead of Audette in a 33-car field.

Livengood rebounds for Lime Rock win

Livengood passed Audette for the lead

F2000 new logoAfter losing valuable points in the Championship earlier in the day with a DNF at Lime Rock, Chris Livengood bounced back, winning for the second time this year. The sophomore F2000 driver did exactly what he needed to take the fight to the final rounds of the season at Watkins Glen – take points away from Remy Audette, who finished second ahead of Tim Paul.

Audette triumphs at Lime Rock

Audette survived turn one drama 

Remy Audette again narrowly avoided first turn melee and won his fifth race of the 2011 F2000 Championship Series season to jump out to an enormous points lead over Chris Livengood in round 11 of 14. Tim Minor followed in second, putting in the comeback drive of the year, and coming from dead last on the restart. Alegra Motorsports’ Angel Benitez notched his best result of 2011, completing the podium. Craig Clawson and Thomas Schwietz followed.
