Super Nova secures Teams’ title

Auto GP logo The 2014 Auto GP championship provided its last few verdicts today at Estoril. Super Nova managed to secure the Teams’ championship as they eventually succeeded in keeping Virtuosi UK at bay in Race 2.

Estoril, Race 1: Tamas Pal Kiss (Virtuosi UK) wins and clinches runner-up spot

Tamas Pal Kiss, driving for Virtuosi UK, cruised to a flag-to-flag win today at Estoril, in Race 1 of the Auto GP 2014 finale.

Auto GP logo The Hungarian racer, who had also scored two points yesterday by taking the pole, mathematically clinched second place in standings. In addition to that, Virtuosi UK was able to reduce its gap from Super Nova in the team’s standings to just 7 points also thanks to a 5th place by Andrea Roda.

Estoril, qualifying: Pal Kiss scores maiden pole

Tamas Pal Kiss scored the fastest lap of the day at Estoril in qualifying for the final round of the 2014 Auto GP championship.

Auto GP logo The Hungarian racer, fielded by Virtuosi UK, logged a personal best laptime of 1’28″759 to take his maiden pole position, which was also the first for the British squad. Estoril, Practice: Pal Kiss starts well in Portugal

The final round of the AutoGP weekend at Estoril started with a great laptime by Tamas Pal Kiss (Virtuosi UK).

Auto GP logo The Hungarian stopped the clocks in 1:42.601, edging the SuperNova duo of Markus Pommer and Vittorio Ghirelli by 0.7s. The Zele Racing stable followed in fourth and fifth: returning former F1 star Antonio Pizzonia was able to top his rookie team-mate, Angolan Luis Sa Silva.

Nurburgring, Race 2: Tamas Pal Kiss (Virtuosi) wins, Kimiya Sato (Euronova) clinches 2014 title

Kimiya Sato is the new Auto GP Champion

The Japanese driver, fielded by Euronova, took third place in Race 2 at the Nürburgring and finally clinched the 2014 title after leading the way from the early stages of the season. After ending the 2013 championship as a runner-up, Sato scored six wins, seven fastest laps, one pole positions and 10 podium finishes out of the 12 races he entered this year. Nurburgring, practice: Kevin Giovesi (FMS) takes an early lead

The seventh round of the 2014 Auto GP season got underway today at the Nürburgring.

Under a cloudy sky that also brought some rain on-track, the teams and drivers of the Coloni-promoted series lined-up for their opening practice session at the Eifel venue. In the end it was Kevin Giovesi (FMS) to cruise to the top end of the charts win 1’32″486.
