Fernando Alonso still has a significant chance of winning the 2012 world championship this weekend.

Clampdown to cost Red Bull five tenths – Horner

But team boss Christian Horner has thrown a cat amongst the pigeons by saying on Austrian television Servus TV that, until now, the RB7 has only been benefitting from “cold blowing”, not the “hot” concept that is so effective when the drivers are off the throttle under braking and in corners. Monaco to tweak tunnel run-off for 2012

Nico Rosberg and Sergio Perez both had high speed crashes after losing control under braking for the corner, raising serious concerns about the barrier that in the past also injured Jenson Button (2003) and Karl Wendlinger (1994). Three drivers uncertain for Monaco GP

The participation of three drivers is in doubt for Sunday’s Monaco grand prix.

Indian Karthikeyan, meanwhile, also failed to set a time in Q1 with a reportedly unrelated suspension problem.  Neither driver has looked competitive all weekend and are therefore unlikely to receive dispensation by the stewards to race.
