WEC: Ferrari recapture the past with strong British presence

There’s an undeniable element of nostalgia surrounding Ferrari at the moment

Almost 60 years after Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins raced the Prancing Horse’s cars in Formula One, with Hawthorn becoming Britain’s first World Champion in 1958, Ferrari have chosen two British drivers, James Calado and Sam Bird, to represent Maranello alongside Italians Gianmaria Bruni and Davide Rigon in the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship. Porsche claim front-row at Nurburgring (+photos)

The two Porsche 919 Hybrid LMP1 racers will start from the front row for tomorrow’s 6 Hours of Nürburgring

2015-08-29 - SaturdayRomain Dumas and Marc Lieb shared the qualifying driving duties to register a best two lap average of 1m36.473s in the No 18 Porsche 919 Hybrid. This eclipsed the second Porsche 919 Hybrid entry, driven by Mark Webber and Timo Bernhard, by just 0.069s.

Le Mans 24 hours: Porsche seals historic victory at Le Mans, taking convincing 1-2
