The Hall of Fame Museum today revealed its new brand and name, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway® Museum (IMSM). The name aligns with an unrivaled collection of automobiles and racing artifacts that follow the history of motor racing, Indy racers and the story of the extraordinary people who helped create the American automotive industry. Indianapolis Motor Speedway legends Fisher, Harroun share birthday
Born Jan. 12, 1874 in Greensburg, Ind., Carl Fisher was 35 years old when he joined with James Allison, Arthur Newby and Frank Wheeler in 1909 to build the speedway as a way for Indianapolis’ burgeoning automobile industry to test its products and occasionally conduct manufacturer competitions in races.

Verizon IndyCar Series driver James Hinchcliffe underwent surgery at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for an injury to his upper left thigh suffered in a crash during a practice session on the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval.
The livery was unveiled at Arrow’s Internet of Things Immersions event in San Jose, Calif.
During each Arrow Electronics Internet of Things Immersion event, Verizon IndyCar Series team owner Sam Schmidt relays his experience of working with Arrow on machine-to-machine technologies that enabled him to drive a modified 2014 Chevrolet Corvette at more than 100 mph on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval last May.
