Mortara and Wickens up front – Wittmann only in eleventh place

Temperatures around 20 degrees, sunshine and a newly surfaced track were the ingredients for first free practice at the Hungaroring

While the two rivals of points’ leader Wittmann presented themselves in excellent form, Wittmann and his fellow BMW drivers ended up further down the ranks.The result was a really fast first DTM session on Friday afternoon. In total, 14 drivers were faster than Miguel Molina’s fastest practice time from 2014.
