Huge presence of Formula 1 aces in Felipe Massa’s promoted race in Brazil
Felipe Massa’s end of the year promoted karting event in Brazil has attracted a higher than ever number of his fellow Formula 1 mates. According to the provisional entry list released early this week, Adrian Sutil, Pastor Maldonado, Rubens Barrichello, Bruno Senna, Jaime Alguersuari and Vitantonio Liuzzi will attend the International Challenge of Go-Kart Champs on December 2-4 at Arena Sapiens in Florianópolis.

Felipe Massa has announced on Monday during a press conference held at Costão do Santinho Resort in Florianopolis that Moto GP reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo is the first motor racing star guest already confirmed in the 2011 International Challenge of Go-Kart Champs field. “Yes, we have just received an OK from him”, said the Ferrari driver.

Lucas di Grassi won, but Indycar ace Bia Figueiredo stole the show by grabbing the second heat at the International Challenge of Go-Kart Champions at Arena Sapiens in Florianopolis, Brazil. Di Grassi failed to finish the Sunday race, but the 25 points he collected with his victory on Saturday were enough to give him the first spot on the aggregate results even tough Felipe Massa, Rubens Barrichello and Bia Figueiredo have scored the same amount. Final positions were defined according to the race 1 order at the checkered flag.

Lucas di Grassi drove a superb race to grab the heat 1 of the International Challenge of Go-Kart Champs on Saturday night at Arena Sapiens in Florianópolis, Brazil. Still searching a seat in Formula 1 after his début for Virgin Racing in 2010, Di Grassi started on second spot and won a fierce battle against Felipe Massa and the polesitter Antonio Pizzonia, respectively second e third at the checkered flag.

The reigning champion Michael Schumacher will not defend his crown due to personal commitments.
