Team E Racing’s Rusty Mitchell did a masterful job to avoid getting caught up in a five-car accident at the start of Sunday’s Firestone Indy Lights race at Kentucky Speedway, and ended up finishing eighth to continue his record of never placing outside of the top 10 in an oval-track race.
Anders ends up in eighth place
For the second time in a week Anders “The Viking” Krohn was extremely strong in the first half of a Firestone Indy Lights race until a problem occurred, forcing the popular driver from Stavanger, Norway to salvage a top-10 finish instead of recording the top-five or podium that appeared to be so close.
In Corning 100 Firestone Indy Lights race at Watkins Glen International
Andersen Racing’s Anders Krohn ran in fourth place for six laps and in fifth place for another 14 laps before a problem with his car’s gearbox relegated him to a tenth-place finish in Sunday’s 30-lap Corning 100 Firestone Indy Lights race at Watkins Glen International.
Wade Cunningham returns for a fifth season of Indy Lights competition in 2009
Sam Schmidt Motorsports has announced that multiple race winner and former Firestone Indy Lights champion Wade Cunningham has been signed to drive the No. 11 Lucas Oil/Sam Schmidt Motorsports entry for the 2009 Firestone Indy Lights season.
