GP3 - Jack Aitken, ART Grand PrixJack Aitken has grabbed the day 2 bragging rights by topping this afternoon’s session in mixed conditions on the final day of the first GP3 Series test session of 2017 at the Circuito de Estoril, easily surpassing George Russell’s best time in wet conditions this morning with a laptime of 1:28.125, but Russell claimed the overall honours with the best time of the test at 1:27.606, set yesterday afternoon. GP3 season opens with Estoril test

GP3 - Circuito de EstorilThe 2017 GP3 Series season opens this week with the first pre-season test, to be held at the Circuito de Estoril on 22-23 March. The teams and drivers will use the 2 day test to start preparations for the opening race of the season, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 12-14 May.

F2 - Norman Nato (Pertamina Arden)Norman Nato set the fastest time of the 3 day FIA Formula 2 Championship test when he topped this morning’s penultimate session in Barcelona, setting a qualifying style lap of 1:27.834 to take home the first pre-season bragging rights ahead of Oliver Rowland (0.054) and Alexander Albon (0.105). F2 - Alexander Albon, ART Grand PrixAlexander Albon stepped up a spot overnight to take the day two honours with the fastest time in this morning’s FIA Formula 2 Championship test session in Barcelona, grabbing the top spot from Johnny Cecotto and Artem Markelov by 0.175s, while Nyck De Vries stole the top spot this afternoon in a session largely dedicated to race simulations, ahead of PREMA pairing Antonio Fuoco and Charles Leclerc.

Nobuharu Matsushita tops first day in Barcelona

Johnny Cecotto (Rapax)Nobuharu Matsushita claimed the first day honours after topping this afternoon’s FIA Formula 2 Championship pre-season test in Barcelona, stopping the clock halfway through the session with   a time of 1:29.061 to lead ART Grand Prix teammate Alexander Albon and Norman Nato, who both finished on the same time, by just under a tenth and top this morning’s best time set by Johnny Cecotto by almost two tenths. This season, the Series will be contested over a total of eight rounds, with seven support events to the Formula One World Championship. Seven rounds will be held on European soil, including Jerez de la Frontera which will host the only standalone race weekend. The campaign will conclude at Yas Marina.

The ART Grand Prix team is pleased to announce the signing of George Russel to their 2017 GP3 driver line up.

GP3 - George Russell (ART GP) AM session The 18 year old has an impressive racing resume which includes championship victories in karting before making his single seater debut in 2014, where he won the BRDC Formula 4 Championship. This victory paved the way for his first GP3 test in December of the same year. George also won the prestigious McLaren Autosport BRDC Award and a Formula One test with the Woking based squad.
