Briton quickest on Day 3 in opening session
Jordan King set the fastest laptime in today’s morning session on the last day of post-season testing at Yas Marina Circuit. With a laptime of 1:49.880, the MP Motorsport driver lapped 0.523s quicker than Racing Engineering’s Louis Delétraz. Johnny Cecotto (Rapax) completed the top three.
Jenzer Motorsport’s Alessio Lorandi posts best time in GP3 post-season test
Jenzer Motorsport’s Alessio Lorandi clocked the quickest time on day two of post-season testing. The Italian’s laptime of 1:55.734 was set in the afternoon. Finn and Red Bull protégé Niko Kari led the way in the morning session at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Finn and Red Bull protégé Niko Kari led the way on the morning session of day two of post-season testing at the Yas Marina Circuit. The Arden International tester was the only driver to lap in the 1m’55s. ART Grand Prix’s Jack Aitken and Jenzer Motorsport’s Alessio Lorandi completed the top three.
Trident driver quickest in opening post-season test day
Raffaele Marciello set the best laptime in today’s post-season test session at the Yas Marina Circuit. The Italian lapped the track in a 1:49.937 at the wheel of a Trident car during the afternoon session ahead of Nobuharu Matsushita (ART Grand Prix) and Oliver Rowland (DAMS).
ART Grand Prix’s Nirei Fukuzumi leads the way in post-season test
Honda protégé Nirei Fukuzumi posted the quickest time in both the morning and afternoon session on day one of post-season testing at the Yas Marina Circuit. The ART Grand Prix driver’s best time was set in the afternoon with a 1:55.479. Jack Aitken (testing for French squad ART GP) was second quickest in both sessions.

GP2 Series: Pierre Gasly, 2016 GP2 champion – how does that sound? Pierre Gasly: It’s amazing! I have no words to describe how I feel now: it’s been such a long season, a really hard fight with many drivers, and we kept fighting to the end, and to get it at the last round is just unbelievable!
Thoughts of a champion
GP3 Series: Charles Leclerc, GP3 Series Champion. How does that sound? Charles Leclerc: It sounds really nice. It feels so good. It’s such a relief for me and the team. We’ve worked so hard for this result. They’ve done an amazing job all season to provide me and my teammates with the best car. It has been a great year. They made me grow a lot as a driver as well. That helped me to win the Series. It feels so good!
Frenchman uses alternate strategy for final pole
Pierre Gasly strategised his way to possibly his most important pole position, holding his nerve and staying put in the pitlane while every other driver stormed onto the Abu Dhabi circuit when the track ran green before finally emerging as his rivals were returning, giving himself a clear track to drag home a dominant fifth pole position of the season ahead of Sergey Sirotkin and Artem Markelov, with his title rival and teammate Antonio Giovinazzi having to make do with 6th position.
