Red Bull driver confirmed at Italian squad
PREMA Racing is delighted to announce the agreement reached with Pierre Gasly for the 2016 GP2 Series. The 19-year-old Frenchman, part of the Red Bull Junior Program, will be at his second season in the championship, and hopes to continue in a positive run that included three pole positions and four podium finishes en-route to an 8th place in standings in 2015.
British driver to race in Russia
Dean Stoneman will race for Carlin this weekend in Sochi for the ninth round of the 2015 GP2 Series which will take place at the Russian circuit for only the second time. Stoneman has been a front runner throughout the season in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series and now joins Carlin to race alongside Sean Gelael in Sochi.
Russian ace joins the GP2 field
Team Rapax is delighted to announce the agreement reached with Sergey Sirotkin for the 2015 GP2 Series season. The 19-year-old Russian will be in his maiden season in the Series, but despite the young age, he already has an impressive resume including the test-driver role covered last year in Formula 1 for Sauber.
British driver leads RUSSIAN TIME 1-2 in Round 4 free practice
Sam Bird set the tone in this morning’s free practice in the streets of Monaco: the Brit’ from RUSSIAN TIME clocked a laptime of 1:21.512 in a trouble free session, five hundredths quicker than teammate Tom Dillmann. Rookie Mitch Evans finished third.
German team given entry for 2013
GP2 Series organisers are pleased to announce that Hilmer Motorsport have been allocated an entry for the 2013 season. The German squad whose Team Principal Franz Hilmer already owns Formtech GmbH – a supplier for several Formula One teams – joins the thirteen team field in replacement of Ocean Racing Technology.
