Frenchman leads the way in Hockenheim
Pierre Gasly has carried over his recent form by topping the timesheets in this morning’s Free Practice session at the Hockenheimring, setting the pace in a tight session which saw the top five drivers split by just two tenths ahead of Artem Markelov and Alex Lynn.
The last round of the 2016 GP2 Series was a mixed weekend for the Racing Engineering team
Saturday’s Sprint Race saw Norman Nato and Jordan King finish 7th and 8th but, with Norman qualifying 5th, the young Frenchman was hoping to finish on the podium but sadly an electrical problem that afflicted him during the race which caused an engine misfire and prevented his DRS from working meant that he lost positions rather than gain any.

After entering two GP2 Series races in two weeks at Red Bull Ring (July 3rd) and Silverstone (July 10th), the squad led by Angelo Rosin will line-up for the FIA F.3 European Championship round at the Dutch seaside venue, located near the North Sea shores in an outstanding frame.

The Baku City Circuit delivered more than expected: the new venue saw rookie Antonio Giovinazzi not only grab pole position, but also triumph in both eventful races and pocket his first GP2 points in the process. With this remarkable achievement, the Italian ace currently lies in third in the drivers’ standings.
Trident goes back on-track in Austria
After a really short break that followed the previous round of the series at Baku, the GP2 Series is about to return on-track for the fourth round of the season. The championship will line-up at the historical, yet highly renovated “Red Bull Ring” circuit in Zeltweg, Austria. Trident drivers Philo Armand and Luca Ghiotto are eager to turn their engines back on and make their way to the start of the weekend.

Giovinazzi and Malja receive time penalties
Following today’s feature race at Monte Carlo, it was found that PREMA Racing’s Antonio Giovinazzi had left the track at Turn 10 and gained an advantage during the event. Therefore, the Italian was handed a 5 second time penalty which has been added to his elapsed race time.
Russian ace victorious in the streets of Monte Carlo
RUSSIAN TIME’s Artem Markelov has come out victorious from a dramatic feature race in Monaco after having started P15 on the grid. The Russian who was last to pit on lap 38 sustained huge pressure from Norman Nato in the final laps to take his first GP2 win ahead of the Frenchman. Oliver Rowland completed the podium.
The fairly seasoned driver has made an agreement to drive a Carlin-entered car at his home event in Barcelona
The GP2 Series kicks off the 2016 season at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in the frame of the Spanish F.1 Grand Prix. Sergio Canamasas and Carlin have reached an agreement by which Spain´s racer will drive one of their Dallaras GP2/11 at GP2 season opener in Barcelona.

It’s been long enough… We’re finally getting set for the start of the GP2 Series season, supporting the Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona this weekend. All the talking’s over now, and along with the DAMS team – who I’m staying with for a second season – we’re honestly as ready as we can be. We’ve been working really hard in the off season, we’ve had the three official tests, and now it’s just about trying to do the job correctly.
