DAY REPORT: 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge, round 12 of 13
Giandomenico Basso has followed in the wheel tracks of rallying legend Colin McRae by winning Rallye Sanremo for a second time. The result, his sixth victory in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, followed a dominant performance on the asphalt event at the wheel of an M-Sport Ford Fiesta RRC.

IRC newcomer Sordo on top after day of drama in Corsica
Dani Sordo will start the final six stages of Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse on Saturday firmly in contention for a debut victory in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge following a day of high drama on the demanding asphalt roads around Corte in the centre of the picturesque Mediterranean island.

Mikkelsen heads close battle for Corsica IRC glory
Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion Andreas Mikkelsen leads Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse following the opening three stages around Ajaccio this afternoon. However, with 2.8s covering the leading drivers, Mikkelsen has a big fight on his hands in his bid to win his first IRC event on asphalt and extend his title advantage.

The importance of the Croatia Rally, second round of the 2011 FIA European Rally Championship, goes well beyond the high one for the speciality (the continental series is second in importance only to the World Championship) and is definitely one of the most awaited and important events of the nation, to the point that the event should be greeted by the President of the Republic, Ivo Josipovic, who has already confirmed his presence in Rijeka in the days of the rally: He might greet the winner on the finish podium in the pedestrian town centre.

Subaru driver Jose L Barrios will be in action on Rally Islas Canarias
A total of 76 cars are set to contest Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Ingles, which takes place on the island of Gran Canaria from 14-16 April. Thirty-five crews have entered the main Intercontinental Rally Challenge event with a further 41 competitors registered for the national-level rally, which counts as a round of the Spanish championship.

First IRC victory for Peugeot’s Italian veteran , Hanninen closes on IRC drivers’ title with second place
Paolo Andreucci has claimed his first victory in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge after defeating fellow Italian Giandomenico Basso in a close fight on Rallye Sanremo, which took place on the testing mountain roads of northern Italy’s Imperia province on Friday and Saturday (September 24-25).

Round 10 of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge
The prospects for Rallye Sanremo, round 10 of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, are mouth-watering after entries for the Italian event peaked at more than 90 cars. In addition to the Skoda Motorsport trio of Juho Hanninen, Jan Kopecky and Freddy Loix, Skoda UK Motorsport will enter a Fabia S2000 for Guy Wilks, while Skoda Italia will be represented by Marco Signor.

For the disappointment of losing out on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge drivers’ title when he contests Rallye International du Valais this weekend. The event, which has become established as Switzerland’s biggest rally, is a round of the European Rally Championship and also qualifies for IRC Supporter Event status.

Peugeot claims third sucessive IRC manufacturers’ title
Skoda Motorsport’s Czech star Jan Kopecky took victory with a measured performance on the Rally Principe de Asturias, his second consecutive win on the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge trail. In a fast and furious two days on the roads around host city Oviedo, Kopecky maintained a consistent pace while other leading contenders endured drama upon drama to claim a hugely popular win and close to within one point of championship leader Kris Meeke.
Dani Sordo has claimed victory on Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse, round four of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, following a faultless performance in a MINI John Cooper Works S2000 on his debut in the all-action series.
The waiting is over. Less than three months since Rallye Monte-Carlo hosted the thrilling start to Intercontinental Rally Challenge season five, the all-action series resumes with Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Ingles next week (14-16 April). 
Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion Kris Meeke says the decision of the Automobile Club de Monaco to continue its relationship with the IRC for a third season is “great news” for the Eurosport Events-promoted series. 
Stilo’s Sebastien Loeb has reset the record books of the FIA World Rally Championship once again with his sixth consecutive WRC title.
