Young Canadian wins his first sports car endeavor
Before this year, driver David Ostella had never raced anything other than karts or formula cars. The Toronto-native graduated through the ranks of karting, Formula BMW, Star Mazda, and two years in Firestone Indy Lights. But just a few short months ago Ostella decided to try his hand at sports car racing and take on historic Sebring International Raceway for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón.
Racing Engineering is pleased to announce that their drivers for the 2013 GP2 Series will be Fabio Leimer and Julián Leal.
The 23 year-old Swiss Fabio Leimer has come up through Formula BMW, Formula Renault and International Formula Master racing and he already has plenty of GP2 experience having made his debut in the 2009–10 GP2 Asia Series.

Canadian Gianmarco Raimondo will be in the Spanish team’s cars
Just five weeks after the last race of the 2012 GP2 Series all the teams are back in action in Barcelona for the first of the two annual post-season tests. Racing Engineering will be giving four drivers the opportunity to drive their cars on the 4.655 km Spanish circuit that is a traditional venue for out of season testing. On Tuesday the 30th of October the Brazilian André Negrão and Canadian Gianmarco Raimondo will be in the Spanish team’s cars and on the following day, Wednesday the 31st, it will be the turn of Dutchman Nigel Melker and Argentinian Facundo Regalia.

The aim of the DAMS team is to pursue the success it enjoyed in a particularly fruitful 2011 season, and the French team has given itself the weapons to do so. After Davide Valsecchi, the ideal team leader, it has just signed the very promising Brazilian, Felipe Nasr, creating a particularly complementary duo.

James Hinchcliffe missed appearing at last year’s Canadian Motorsports Expo because he was taking part in an IndyCar test at Florida’s Sebring International Raceway. In the time since that test, Hinchcliffe has been extremely busy, and he’ll have a lot to talk about when he takes to the CME’s Mazda Stage on Sunday, February 12.

Mygale North America will import the French manufacturer’s race cars to the United States and Canada and provide customer support for new and existing Mygale car owners.

The story of the Italian team is a really successful one, starting right from that first season that saw the team clinch his first drivers title in the Italian F3 Championship with Enzo Coloni himself at the wheel, and still keeping momentum today with the three wins the team secured in the 2011 GP2 season.
For the Indy Lights official series test at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Two days of test in Jerez
Although the 2011 Series finished two weeks ago at Monza, the GP2 teams are not resting and they will all be meeting again at the Spanish track of Jerez on the 28th and 29th of this month for an official test session to give the teams an opportunity to test new and up-and-coming drivers.

Grist ended a busy 2010 with a trip to Italy for the 2010 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals followed on week with the 2010 Skip Barber Karting Shootout at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterrey, CA.
18-year-old Dane becomes the youngest driver in the 2011 field
Mikkel Mac has become the youngest driver in the 2011 Formula Two field, after the 18-year-old confirmed his drive in the championship today. The Dane graduates to F2 following impressive showings in winter testing last December – he finished 7th overall in Portimão – and more recently pre-season testing at Silverstone and Snetterton, where he regularly ran amongst the top ten fastest drivers.
Canadian open wheel racer has another solid outing on speed as the F3 Italian Series complete the penultimate event of 2010
Gianmarco Raimondo, Canadian formula car racer, completed another up and down weekend of competition in the Italian Formula 3 series, which returned to the Mugello Circuit for a second time in the 2010 season. The Lucidi Motorsports driver entered the race very up beat after a very solid run in both timed practice sessions in the 28-car field.
This weekend, Romain Grosjean will drive for DAMS in the GP2 Series
