The four manufacturers in the Verizon IndyCar Series will be on board for years to come
Chevrolet, Honda, Dallara and Firestone announced jointly Friday that they have agreed to multiyear contract extensions to remain in the series. The Dallara and Firestone extensions were announced in January. Coupling in those from Chevrolet and Honda today ensures a continuation of the core base of INDYCAR’s four primary suppliers.

Green Savoree Racing Promotions (GSRP) announces a new partnership with PPG Industries, naming the company as the official paint sponsor of all three GSRP race properties, which include Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Honda Indy Toronto and the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course which hosts The Honda Indy 200 in Lexington, Ohio.
Thirteen Races Announced for March 10-12th Weekend
Single day tickets to the 2017 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will go on sale to the public tomorrow (February 1) at 10:00 a.m. EST at gpstpete.com. Organizers today also announced five additional racing series each showcasing doubleheader races for fans during the weekend.

There’s an underlying unknown with the Chevrolet and Honda aerodynamic bodywork packages that will debut in competition this week during the Verizon IndyCar Series’ Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
Fan favorite Simona De Silvestro is returning to the Verizon IndyCar Series.
De Silvestro, 26, will drive an Andretti Autosport Honda in the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 27-29, the team announced. Marco Andretti, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Carlos Munoz also will drive Andretti Autosport-prepared cars in the 110-lap race (3 p.m. ET, ABC) that features the competition debut of aerodynamic bodywork kits supplied by Chevrolet and Honda.

The four-time Champ Car champion is referencing the importance of his first test days of the year in the No. 11 KVSH Racing car in preparation for the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. He’ll join other Verizon IndyCar Series drivers at NOLA Motorsports Park near New Orleans on Feb. 10-11 – days leading into carnival week culminating in Mardi Gras.
