Second place Davies claims runner-up spot as Rea suffers first DNF of the season
The final FIM Superbike World Championship race of 2015 was won on the final lap after another race-long fight as Leon Haslam (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils), who took his second win of the year – the fifth of his WorldSBK career – beat Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team).
The series to be broadcast in Brazil until 2018
Major sporting TV network ESPN Brazil has extended the agreement with Dorna WSBK Organization to broadcast the FIM Superbike World Championship for a further three-year period (2016-2018). The top production-based motorcycle racing series in the world will be viewable all over the Brazilian territory in both English and Portuguese languages.
The Italian venue will continue hosting a round of the FIM Superbike World Championship.
Dorna WSBK Organization is delighted to announce the renewal of the partnership with the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” to host an official round of the FIM Superbike World Championship for a further four-year period (2016-2019).
On 8 April, FIM and Dorna WSBK representatives visited the Bimota plant in Rimini, Italy.
The purpose of this visit was to meet the new proprietors of the Italian manufacturer and to verify that the production procedure is going ahead smoothly with a view to obtaining the required FIM homologation for the motorcycle to take part to the eni FIM Superbike World Championship.
2013 FIM Superbike World Championship
Following the decision taken by the FIM Stewards at Race 2 of the FIM Superbike round held on 12 May in Monza (ITA) and counting towards the 2013 FIM Superbike World Championship to cancel the drop of position sanction imposed by the Race Direction on rider Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team), the Aprilia Racing Team and rider Sylvain Guintoli lodged an appeal with the FIM CDI.

MotoGP and WorldSBK, will be integrated within the Dorna Sports group but managed as separate events
Bridgepoint has announced that Dorna Sports and Infront Sports & Media have reached agreement to bring both their motorcycle racing interests under a single umbrella organisation. Dorna is the organiser of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix (“MotoGP”), whilst Infront organises the eni FIM Superbike World Championship (“WorldSBK”) through its subsidiary Infront Motor Sports.
The Manufacturers’ battle is also at stake
Three riders and three different manufacturers will be facing off on Sunday in the final showdown at Magny-Cours for the 2012 eni FIM Superbike World Championship titles. Not for the first time will the French circuit play host to the championship’s grand finale, which this time sees two Italians, Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing Team) and Marco Melandri (BMW Motorad Motorsport) and a British rider, Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team), currently second in the standings, mathematically still in with a chance of winning.
Laguna Seca returns to the World Superbike calendar in 2013
Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) proved the fastest rider on day one at Portimao, with a 1 minute 43.196 second lap taking him ahead of Eugene Laverty (Aprilia Racing). Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) was third, and completing a sequence of different machines in the top four places, Jonathan Rea (Honda World Superbike Team) was fourth.

Infront Motor Sports and Jerez de la Frontera have announced that the Spanish circuit will join the eni FIM Superbike World Championship calendar from 2013 onwards following an agreement signed today in Jerez. The agreement is for three years from 2013 to 2015 inclusive and next year’s race can now be confirmed as the final round of the season on 20 October.
