The F1 rumour mill is alight with speculation Caterham is taking a new race driver to this weekend’s Belgian grand prix.

Just a week after having mastered the demanding Formula 1 circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, a.k.a. the Ardennes Rollercoaster, the young Formula 3 drivers now will have to face a completely different challenge: Nuremberg’s Norisring – a street circuit and with a length of 2.3 kilometres the shortest track on the FIA Formula 3 European Championship calendar.

The notoriously changeable weather conditions at Spa-Francorchanps also played an important role in FIA Formula 3 European Championship qualifying: in the first qualifying session on a dry track, Esteban Ocon (Prema Powerteam) was fastest from Max Verstappen (Van Amersfoort Racing).
Last year, Felipe Guimarães (Double R Racing) gathered F3 experience in the British Formula 3 Championship.
In 2014, he competes in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship to battle it out with the best young-guns of the world. With 12 races contested, the 23-year-old Brazilian has got one championship point on his tally.
