La Rocca breaks win record with Watkins Glen drive

Robert La Rocca notched his 10th win of the year

F2000 Championship Series logoAfter starting from pole and briefly losing the lead, Robert La Rocca got around Wyatt Gooden and fended off Gooden on a restart, with the two cars making contact coming to the green and white flags. La Rocca would go onto take his 10th win of the 2012 F2000 Championship season, breaking the existing win record with a bit of drama. La Rocca had already locked up the Championship prior to the race, adding even more points for the pole, and yet another win. La Rocca Takes Summit Point Victory, Inches Closer to Title

F2000 Championship Series logoRobert La Rocca had to find his way around Kevin Kopp for the race lead at Summit Point Motorsports Park, but made the pass stick and then pulled away for his ninth F2000 Championship Series win in 11 races in 2012. Wyatt Gooden held on to finish second, denying La Rocca a Championship-clinching day, with Kopp rounding out the top three.

La Rocca leads at Mid-Ohio

F2000 Championship Series logoRobert La Rocca held off a very brief restart challenge and led all 18 laps from pole, taking his eighth win of 2012 with ease, and extending what is already a massive Championship points lead in the F2000 Series. La Rocca won round nine of the 2012, 14-race season, in the No. 10 HP-Tech Van Diemen, finishing ahead of John LaRue and Wyatt Gooden.

F2000 Championship Series logoRobert La Rocca continued the success following his third straight win of 2012 on Friday, by vaulting to pole in an early morning qualifying session for round two of the Road Atlanta F2000 Championship Series weekend, smashing the existing track record with a lap of 1:24.373. La Rocca leads a tight battle for the lead

F2000 Championship Series logoRobert La Rocca made it three wins in three starts in 2012, winning at Road Atlanta on Friday morning after trading the lead back and forth throughout the 18-lap race with rookie Wyatt Gooden, who started from pole. La Rocca eventually separated from Gooden, who went on to finish second, his best F2000 performance to date for Quantum Racing Services, with Kyle Connery following in third place. Robert La Rocca Fast in Practice

La Rocca was quick again.

F2000 Championship Series logoRobert La Rocca continued his success from a double win at VIR, setting fastest lap over three 25-minute practice sessions on Thursday morning at Road Atlanta, ahead of qualifying and rounds three and four of the 2012 F2000 Championship Series season, driving the No. 10 HP-Tech Motorsport Van Diemen. In the third and final session of the morning, La Rocca turned in a lap of 1:24.964, well under the track record and ahead of Fabio Orsolon, Niki Coello, Wyatt Gooden and Kyle Connery. F2000 new logoAfter losing valuable points in the Championship earlier in the day with a DNF at Lime Rock, Chris Livengood bounced back, winning for the second time this year. The sophomore F2000 driver did exactly what he needed to take the fight to the final rounds of the season at Watkins Glen – take points away from Remy Audette, who finished second ahead of Tim Paul.

Audette triumphs at Lime Rock

Audette survived turn one drama 

Remy Audette again narrowly avoided first turn melee and won his fifth race of the 2011 F2000 Championship Series season to jump out to an enormous points lead over Chris Livengood in round 11 of 14. Tim Minor followed in second, putting in the comeback drive of the year, and coming from dead last on the restart. Alegra Motorsports’ Angel Benitez notched his best result of 2011, completing the podium. Craig Clawson and Thomas Schwietz followed.
