Martin, Gitlin and Bianchi win in Race 1 at Brno

Alexander Martin the English Motor Piacenza driver took his maiden victory in the Pro category, ahead of Italy’s Dario Caso who fought his way up the order and the Slovak Oknaj driving for Scuderia Praha.

The F1 world is once again keeping a nervous eye on an ash cloud produced by an Icelandic volcano eruption.
Almost exactly a year ago, the sport’s travelling circus ground to a halt when airports closed due to an unpronounceable Icelandic volcano. On Saturday, another volcano – Grimsvotn – erupted in Iceland and the dangerous ash cloud is now en route to the UK, according to the Bloomberg news agency.
Pirelli has revealed the PZero tyre compound choices for the grands prix of Canada, Europe and Great Britain.
In Canada, the soft and the supersoft tyre will be used as prime and option respectively: just as is the case in Monaco, where the supersoft tyre is making its debut. In Valencia, the street circuit that hosts the Grand Prix of Europe, the medium tyre will make its debut as the prime with the supersoft as the option.
