Butch is Back: With Dyson at Sebring

Leitzinger joins Dyson Racing for ALMS opener

Dyson Racing is celebrating its 30th year in professional sports car racing this year. It is fitting that long-time Dyson Racing driver Butch Leitzinger will join Chris Dyson and Guy Smith in the No. 16 Lola-Mazda coupe for the 61st Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida on March 16. An 18-year veteran of the team, Butch first drove for team in the 1995 24 Hours of Daytona. He has won three championships for the team, placed second four times and third twice. Dyson Racing, Level 5 fastest in Road Atlanta testing

First day of running for 2012 ALMS finale

Dyson Racing ended up quickest on the first day of testing for the 15th annual Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda on Sunday with the No. 20 Lola-Mazda turning a lap of 1:12.742 (125.742 mph). The car – which will be driven by Tony Burgess, Mark Patterson and Chris McMurry in Saturday’s race at Road Atlanta – led a group of four cars within 0.689 seconds of each other. What a finish… again! Dyson Racing wins at Road America (updated)

Closest finish in ALMS history for Dyson/Smith – 0.083 seconds

ALMS Guy Smith and Dyson Racing were on the other end this time around at Road America. A year after missing out by 0.112 seconds, Smith delivered victory for Dyson Racing on Saturday in the closest overall finish in the history of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón – 0.083 seconds.

Home-track team, defending race winner start out front

The Lime Rock weekend’s first battle went to the home-track team. Guy Smith put Dyson Racing on pole position Friday for the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix in an epic 15-minute session. Smith set a lap of 44.017 (120.553 mph) in Dyson Racing’s Mazda-powered Lola coupe that he drives with Chris Dyson.
