Davide Valsecchi cruised to victory at the end of the Auto GP race held at the 2014 Motor Show of Bologna.
In the series’ first appearance at the historical Emilian motor-related event, the Auto GP races drew great crowds both in the racing arena, where the competition unfolded, and in Pavilion 30, where Italian TV personality Jimmy Ghione presented the 2014 prize-giving ceremony.

Last weekend, Davide Valsecchi had the chance to drive the latest Auto GP car, updated with the latest performance package set for 2015. It’s been a successful shakedown at Magione, where with the supervision of Enzo Coloni, the 2012 GP2 Champion sampled the upcoming innovations.
Lotus looks to have made its choice of official reserve driver for 2014.
It appears unlikely the Enstone based team will keep Davide Valsecchi on board, particularly after the Italian admitted he was “angry” when bosses overlooked him as the surgery-bound Kimi Raikkonen’s replacement late last season.

After two consecutive drivers’ titles (Romain Grosjean in 2011 and Davide Valsecchi in 2012) and a teams’ crown in 2012, DAMS did not meet with the same success in 2013 due mainly to poor results in the first half of the season.
