Villeneuve turned down late Wheldon’s Indy drive

Jacques Villeneuve has revealed he turned down the chance to contest the 2011 Indycar season finale because he considered it too dangerous.

Dan Wheldon was an extremely talented English Indy Car driver who had won the prestigious Indy 500 on two occasions and the Indy Car Championship in 2005. He was involved in a fatal collision at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on the 16th of October, 2011 and sadly passed away at the age of 33.
