Chip GanassiRenowned champion car owner Chip Ganassi will serve as Grand Marshal for the 56th anniversary Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, giving the ‘Drivers, start your engines,’ command. The twice-around-the-clock endurance race will take place on Daytona International Speedway’s 3.56-mile road course Jan. 27-28.

WEC: American legend Ganassi enjoying visit

One of the towering figures in American motorsport, Chip Ganassi, is in the paddock this weekend overseeing the Ford team which bears his name.

Ford Chip Ganassi Racing, running a pair of the turbocharged Ford GTs, has been one of the stories of the season with the stunning LMGTE Pro cars. Ganassi is seeing his first European action of the 3.5 V6 turbocharged cars after being at Laguna Seca last weekend where he witnessed the first victory for the Ford GT design which has so far captured the imagination of the motorsport world.

Dixon wins Richmond as Penske falters

Scott Dixon headed a Target Chip Ganassi 1-2 in the SunTrust Indy Challenge at Richmond International Raceway

Dixon and Dario Franchitti made the most of early exits for both their Penske rivals. Dixon completed the 300 laps just three tenths ahead of Franchitti as another IndyCar Series race proved just how hard it has become to pass with the current spec of Dallara-Honda, but the Scot should have been first across the line, having been caught out by the timing of one of the race’s four accident-inspired cautions.
