Russian claims maiden pole
Sergey Sirotkin defied his lack of experience at the Silverstone circuit by claiming pole position for tomorrow’s feature race on his first visit to the track, setting two laps quick enough to take the top spot and denying McLaren tester Stoffel Vandoorne and an impressively quick Richie Stanaway the glory in this afternoon’s qualifying session.
Belgian on top for fifth feature race in a row
Stoffel Vandoorne continued his domination of feature races this year with a crushing performance in this afternoon’s race in Austria, locking out the top spot once again as he has done each time out since Abu Dhabi last year, despite the best efforts today of podium finishers Sergey Sirotkin and Alex Lynn.
Rapax driver quickest in opening session at Spielberg
Russian ace Sergey Sirotkin has had the perfect start to his Austrian weekend by setting up the fastest laptime of today’s free practice session in a blazing 1:14.880, three tenths clear of Mitch Evans. Series leader Stoffel Vandoorne completed the top three.

American driver on top in wet qualifying session
Alexander Rossi has claimed pole position – the second of his GP2 career – in the streets of Monte Carlo in wet conditions. The American driver set a laptime of 1:37.019, half a second clear of his closest rival Arthur Pic in Group B. Quickest in Group A, Raffaele Marciello will start from the front row in tomorrow’s feature race.
