Go time for Kennington – Former champ ready for some oval racing action
With a sigh of relief, D.J. Kennington is ready jump into his comfort zone. The 2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season started off with a pair of road-course events, but the Clarington 200 at the Speedway at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville, Ont., on June 16 opens a three-race stretch of competition on oval tracks – the EMCO 200 on June 23 at Delaware (Ont.) Speedway and the A&W Cruisin’ The Dub 300 at Motoplex Speedway and Event Park in Vernon, B.C., on July 14 follow.
Canadian Tire partners with Mosport International Raceway
Canadian Tire today announced a long term partnership with Mosport International Raceway, a renowned racing facility located in Bowmanville, Ontario. The track will be renamed Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. As part of a commitment to further establishing itself as Canada’s automotive authority, Canadian Tire is increasing its investment to support motorsports in Canada through this partnership.
More than thirty Dodge cars to compete in NASCAR racing at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve
Dodge drivers include: Andrew Ranger, Alex Tagliani, Jacques Villeneuve and Maryeve Dufault. Dodge Red will be the dominant colour both on the track and off at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montréal this weekend. A total of 30 Dodge race cars are entered in the two NASCAR Series races.

Return on an unbelievable Sunday
As you already know, yesterday was a wonderful day for Team Canada when Scott Campbell and Daniel Morad won the world title in their category. Because of the short time we had at the end of this long Sunday to prepare our daily report, we prepared a longer one today with more details.
End of the prelimary round
Today was very important for the drivers at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. Drivers had to race in their third and last heat race and, for those who will not qualify directly for the final round, in the Second chance race in the Rotax Max Junior, Rotax Max and DD2 classes.
Drivers had to race in two qualifying heats today. Like yesterday, some of our drivers had a good day, some others not. In the Junior class, Nicholas Latifi continued his good job when he got a 6th and a 4th place finish. For Garett Grist, he must battle a lot in every heat because the competition in the middle of the pack is crazy.

Canadian Tire continued its tradition of supporting Canadian motorsport today announcing title sponsorship of the Canadian Tire ASN Canada FIA Canadian Karting Championship, to be held August 18 – 22, 2010, at Le Circuit, Mont Tremblant, Quebec. In addition, Canadian Tire will be a sponsor of the Canadian team entry at the Rotax World Finals taking place November 15 – 21, 2010, at Muro Leccese in Italy.
Monaco-like street race in Quebec bringing together large crowds and prominent racers at end of July
The 11th annual Monaco de Trois-Rivières is gearing up for the July 25-26 weekend and quickly growing as a marquee event in the Northeast area of North America. Running as part of the Canadian city of Trois-Rivières 375th celebration, the 1.2km circuit runs through the main streets of the downtown section along the St. Lawrence river. Over 25,000 spectators are in for one of karting’s most thrilling presentations of the sport.
