Thursday, April 27th, was the first official day of 2017  Formula 1 VTB Russian Grand Prix

Nearly 10K spectators attended Formula 1 VTB Russian Grand Prix this ThursdayNearly 10 thousand spectators visited Sochi Autodrom and the Olympic Park. Fans flew to Sochi from all over Russia, from Vladimir to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, all to enjoy the main autosport event, the fourth Formula 1 Grand Prix in Russia’s history.

WEC: Improved safety measures installed at the Porsche Curves

SAFER barriers, most commonly used in US racing, have been installed on the outside of the first part of the Porsche Curves

The run-off and gravel trap have also been extended at the final right-hander of the Porsche Curves. ACO Sporting Manager Vincent Beaumesnil told the British magazine Autosport that he believes it is the first time that the SAFER system has been used on a road course in Europe. No more new teams to join F1 in 2016 – FIA
