Bruno Spengler will be lining up alongside the pole sitter in second place
Only three hours after his maiden pole position in the DTM, the first victory followed: in a dominant way, BMW driver António Félix da Costa drove from pole position to his first major success in the most popular international touring car series, an undisputed victory.
The BMW Motorsport driver line-up for the coming DTM season is complete
Tom Blomqvist will race in the popular touring car series at the wheel of the eighth BMW M4 DTM in 2015. Reigning DTM champion Marco Wittmann, Maxime Martin, Augusto Farfus, Bruno Spengler, Martin Tomczyk, Timo Glock and António Félix da Costa had previously been confirmed as drivers at the traditional BMW Motorsport Season Review on 5th December.
Bruno Spengler and Augusto Farfus came second in their class, together with Bill Auberlen and Dirk Werner.
The Audi and BMW DTM drivers have completed the Daytona 24-hour race with decent results. Mike Rockenfeller, who, as usual, got permission from his employer Audi to race a potentially winning prototype, only just missed out on a podium finish and was classified fourth overall, together with his team-mates Guy Cosmo, Richard Westbrook and Michael Valiante.
Augusto Farfus and Bruno Spengler are racing a BMW Z4 GTE, together with Dirk Werner and Bill Auberlen.
It is the first major motorsport event of any new year: the Daytona 24 Hours. This year, again, a range of DTM drivers is present and is more than happy to use this warm-up as a part of the preparation for the upcoming DTM season.

Following his first DTM win, secured in the 2014 season opener at Hockenheim, BMW driver Marco Wittmann will be – for the first time in his DTM career – the hunted, in the second of the season’s 10 rounds, held this weekend (16th to 18th May) at the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

BMW’s motor sport boss has refused to comment on speculation Nick Heidfeld could move from formula one to the DTM series next year. German Heidfeld, 34, was appointed as injured Robert Kubica’s replacement for 2011, but Renault has now dumped him in favour of Bruno Senna.
