To a strong drive in Rally Scotland
Welsh driver Tom Cave was within a few corners of clinching fourth place in the Rally of Scotland before pitching his Proton Satria Neo S2000 car into a ditch. Still only 18, Cave fought valiantly in keeping the PROTON flag flying in the rough three-day rally, which inflicted so many casualties that even the top competitors battled repeated punctures.

The 2010 end-of-season awards ceremony will take place at Le Méridien Limassol Spa and Resort in Limassol on the evening of Sunday 7 November. Located on Akrotiri Bay, on the island’s southern coast, Limassol plays host to the 2010 FxPro Cyprus Rally (4-6 November) as well as to the inaugural Love Cyprus Golden Stage Rally (7 November).
Sebastien Ogier will make his return to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge when he contests Rally d’Italia-Sardegna next month
Ogier, who was victorious on his IRC debut on Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo last season, will drive a Peugeot 207 Super 2000 on the demanding gravel event, which is based in Olbia from 4-6 June. It will mark the Frenchman’s second appearance in the IRC in 2010 after he entered Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo for a second time back in January, only to retire on the final night while he was firmly in contention for a repeat victory.

Intercontinental Rally Challenge gets underway in Brazil, entries are still rolling in for Rally Internacional de Curitiba. So far, more than 30 crews have registered to take part on the gravel event, which takes place from 4-6 March. They include Peugeot UK’s Kris Meeke, the reigning IRC champion and the winner of the rally last year, plus factory Skoda Motorsport drivers Juho Hanninen and Jan Kopecky.

On the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, Scottish rally hero Alister McRae crossed the finish line of the Rally of Scotland in third place in Stirling this afternoon. McRae, one of the sport’s biggest names, is returning to rallying with the Malaysian manufacturer and admitted the result was an emotional moment for all concerned.
