2013 McLaren driver Sergio Perez is being managed by former Indycar driver and fellow Mexican Adrian Fernandez.
McLaren, who have signed current Sauber driver Perez to replace Lewis Hamilton, confirmed the 22-year-old’s professional link to Fernandez, 47. Fernandez – an owner of racing teams as well – has also been backed through his career by Perez’s sponsor Telmex, but Fernandez denied Perez is still a “pay driver”.

Harold Primat notched up his best ever Le Mans 24 Hours result at La Sarthe on Sunday afternoon, finishing sixth overall after a problem prevented the Aston Martin Racing factory driver from claiming a potential fourth place. Primat’s crew, completed by co-drivers Adrian Fernandez and Stefan Mucke, had consistently proved the fastest petrol-powered trio on track throughout the week-long event and underlined their pace by qualifying eighth overall just behind the seven diesel entries.

A total of seven full-time American Le Mans Series teams with nine entries are set to compete at this year’s running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s premier motor race. The reigning 24 Hours of Le Mans champion turned in a best lap of 1:05.323 (135.517 mph) and edged out de Ferran Motorsports’ Simon Pagenaud by a scant 0.074 seconds.

American Le Mans Series headlines full weekend of racing
With the end of summer approaching, race fans will have the chance to close out their racing seasons with one more action-packed weekend when the Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport featuring the American Le Mans Series returns, Aug. 27-30.
