Reigning Star Mazda champion, Conor Daly has lost his backing from Jerry Forsythe
The former Champ car team and series owner has backed Daly for the past four years during which he won the 2007 Stars of Karting TaG senior championship, the 2008 Skip Barber National championship and the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear.
With seventh race win at Mosport International Raceway
In an exciting, record-breaking and truly dominative season in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear, Juncos Racing and driver Conor Daly not only secured their seventh win, but also clinched the 2010 championship title today at Mosport International Raceway.
Mitchell and Calderon Claim More Top-Ten Results
In a race filled with overtaking, yellow flags and challenging track conditions, Conor Daly battled with the competition at the front of the field to gain yet another podium finish for himself in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear. Daly has only finished outside the top three positions once this season in 10 total rounds thus far, his other result being fourth place at race two in New Jersey Motorsports Park on June 27.
Conor Daly proved he is one of the fastest drivers in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship
He nabbed his seventh pole position of the season in this afternoon’s qualifying session at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres in Quebec, Canada. In this morning’s final practice session, the 18-year-old Indiana-native generated a fastest lap time of 1:01.303 which would have broken the current track record set by teammate Rusty Mitchell in 2009 had it qualified for an official lap record time (only qualifying and race lap times count towards official records.)
From green to checkered to win fifth race of 2010
In yet another brilliant run, Conor Daly dominated in this afternoon’s race at Autobahn Country Club to win his fifth race of the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear. He started from the pole position, led every lap from green to checkered flag and once again claimed the fastest lap of the race with a time of 2:13.299.
Team is now getting ready for New Jersey

A current competitor in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship
Rusty Mitchell has signed with Juncos Racing for the remainder of the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear season. A current competitor in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship, this year marks Mitchell’s second full season and third year of experience in a Formula Mazda. The Midlands, Texas native will make his debut as a Juncos Racing driver at the Pizza Ranch 100 event at Iowa Speedway June 18-19.
For Sebring and St. Petersburg events
Hayden Duerson, 18, has signed with Juncos Racing for the first two races of the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear. The St. Petersburg native has competed in many regional racing events over the past few years, including finishing second at the 2008 Sebring-opener in the Skip Barber National Series, making him well-suited to compete in both round one at the Sebring International Raceway and round two at the Streets of St. Petersburg.
Daly has announced his plans to compete with Juncos Racing in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship
After topping the time sheets at the first official series test in Sebring at the end of January with the fastest overall time of 2:00.588, the 18-year-old is more than ready to return to the Championship this season where he will race his lucky #22 car in Juncos Racing colors.
At Lime Rock Park
Newly announced Team USA Scholarship driver earned a fully funded ride in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship with the series crown. Rising American junior formula car driver Connor De Phillippi completed his goal of winning the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National presented by Mazda title this weekend (October 9-10), with fourth and seventh place results in the season-finale at Lime Rock Park.
