What the winners said after the 4 Hours of Estoril

The 4 Hours of Estoril, which took place at the Autodromo di Estoril on Sunday, marked the end of the European Le Mans Series for 2014.

To close the season, the drivers and teams present in Portugal put on for the many spectators in the grandstands and the paddock a superbly competitive festival of racing: three races within one race as each of the three categories, LMP2, LMGTE and GTC, battled for victory.

Pietro Fantin (International Draco Racing) starred during day one of the collective tests at the Circuito de Jerez.

 The Brazilian clocked the best time of the day at 1:27.915 during the morning session. Dean Stoneman (Arden Motorsport) then dominated the afternoon. Today also saw Nyck de Vries put in his first laps at the wheel of a Formula Renault 3.5 Series. 10th on the day, the 2014 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 champion was with his future team, defending champions, DAMS.

First suggestions of the DTM Drivers Association realized

At the last race weekend, first suggestions were realized for the sake of improving safety at the Lausitzring.

Estoril, Race 1: Tamas Pal Kiss (Virtuosi UK) wins and clinches runner-up spot

Tamas Pal Kiss, driving for Virtuosi UK, cruised to a flag-to-flag win today at Estoril, in Race 1 of the Auto GP 2014 finale.

Auto GP logo The Hungarian racer, who had also scored two points yesterday by taking the pole, mathematically clinched second place in standings. In addition to that, Virtuosi UK was able to reduce its gap from Super Nova in the team’s standings to just 7 points also thanks to a 5th place by Andrea Roda.

Auer wins final race of 2014, Blomqvist runner-up in drivers’ standings

Lucas Auer (kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport) concluded his second year in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship with his third victory of the season.
F3 - Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg British drivers Jordan King (Carlin) and Tom Blomqvist (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin) followed behind the 20-year-old Austrian.  With this third place, Blomqvist also secured himself second place in the final drivers’ standings of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. Max Verstappen (Van Amersfoort Racing), who will be racing in Formula 1 for Toro Rosso next year, finished sixth in his final race in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship ahead of Ocon.
