Status Grand Prix takeover Caterham Racing and joins GP2 Series

GP2 organisers confirm that UK based GP3 team Status Grand Prix have signed an agreement to acquire Caterham Racing.
GP2 Series Media The GP2 team will compete as Caterham Racing for the remainder of the 2014 season, and will become Status Grand Prix in 2015. The current driver line up is unaffected by the takeover for the final round at Yas Marina Circuit.

Marco Sorensen sprints to maiden GP2 win

GP2 - Marco Sorensen (MP Motorsport) Lotus F1 protégé Marco Sorensen has claimed his and MP Motorsport’s first GP2 win in today’s sprint race at Sochi from pole position. The Dane remained in control throughout an eventful race to cross the finish line 0.6s ahead of McLaren test driver Stoffel Vandoorne. Williams F1 third driver Felipe Nasr charged to third place.

GP3 - Patric Niederhauser (Arden International) What a race and what a last lap! Swiss star Patric Niederhauser was triumphant in Race 2 at the Sochi Autodrom at Round 8 of the 2014 GP3 Series, holding off Koiranen GP’s Dean Stoneman and ART Grand Prix’s Marvin Kirchhöfer in a stunning three-way fight. Series leader Alex Lynn was fifth with the battle for the GP3 title going to the final round in Abu Dhabi.

GP3 - Dean Stoneman (Koiranen GP) British star Dean Stoneman carved up the opposition in today’s qualifying for Round 8 of the 2014 GP3 Series season. The Koiranen GP ace produced a lap almost half a second quicker than his nearest rival to clock his debut pole position. ART Grand Prix’s Alex Fontana and Marvin Kirchhöfer were second and third whilst Series leader Alex Lynn will start in eighth.
