Lance Stroll has been inducted in to the British Racing Drivers’ Club’s Rising Stars programme. The 17-year-old Canadian who currently leads the FIA European Formula 3 Championship is eligible for membership due to him being born in a Commonwealth country.

Lance Stroll is eagerly looking forward to racing at the Red Bull Ring for the second time in his career next weekend (21-22 May) – just one week after topping the time sheets in two of the three sessions, starting from pole-position plus finishing ninth, fourth and second at Pau earning the Canadian the series lead.

In bright sunshine at Pau in the south of France, Alessio Lorandi (Carlin) claimed his maiden FIA Formula 3 European Championship race win. The Italian led from the first till the final lap at the 2.76 kilometres long street circuit at the foot of the Pyrenées and thus also secured the first win of his team Carlin in the 2016 FIA Formula 3 European Championship.
The Rain and An Incident Complicated Kami Laliberté’s First Two Days
During free practice and qualifying Friday, and again today in the first two races on the program, young Montreal born driver Kami Laliberté was confronted as all his rivals with difficult conditions, rain, sometimes heavy being a factor on almost every occasion French Formula 4 cars took to the track at the Grand Prix de Pau. Despite the events, the Canadian remains optimistic for the other two races on schedule for tomorrow.
