Since the news of Move Motorsport stepping away from the Ontario Formula Ford series came out late last week, there have been some greatly exaggerated reports of open wheel racing’s ultimate demise here in Canada, with a lot of unfounded speculation, and the usual somebody needs to do something.
Neil Verhagen won an exciting Friday evening F1600 Formula F Championship Series race at VIRginia International Raceway
After taking the white-flag three wide, K-Hill’s Verhagen emerged to win by a few car lengths after a race-long all-green-flag battle among four cars on the F1600 Championship finale weekend in Virginia. It is one step closer to the title for the F1600 points leader. Kaylen Frederick and Phillippe Denes followed for Team Pelfrey.
Estep scores three poles, three flag-to-flag wins at Circuit Mont-Tremblant Fall Classic on route to title
Exclusive Autosport’s Formula Tour 1600 season ended just as it began: with utter domination. Trenton Estep of San Antonio, Texas, was the class of the field in this past weekend’s Fall Classic at Circuit Mont-Tremblant by being fastest in practice, earning pole in all three races while breaking the series track record with a qualifying lap of 1:44.354 – a mark previously set by another Exclusive Autosport driver, Tristan DeGrand, in 2014 – and winning all three races from flag to flag, each by margins of between 10 and 20 seconds to the second-place finisher.
