Fastest LMP2 time for Repton developed power plant
A Zytek Nissan-engined car grabbed the LMP2 class pole position for the Le Mans 24-hours last night. In the closing seconds of final qualifying, Olivier Pla in the OAK Racing Morgan, which features a Zytek developed and serviced Nissan VK45DE engine, recorded the fastest lap in class with a time of 3mim 38.621sec.
Three-year agreement signed to be the official lubricant supplier
Zytek Engineering Limited has signed a three-year agreement with leading high performance and competition lubricants specialist Motul. The Repton-based race engine and chassis manufacturer has named Motul, which has a long history of association with motor sport, as a technical partner and the supplier of its official lubricants. Motul will work closely with Zytek on the development of its engines, supplying oil for its engine test facility, as well as workshop consumables and on-track technical support.
Second team to race 2011’s most successful LMP2
Success breeds success. A second team is to run one of Zytek’s championship winning Z011SN LMP2 prototypes in this year’s European Le Mans Series and, entry permitting, at Le Mans itself. Kent-based Jota Sport has announced this week that it will join Greaves Motorsport to race 2011’s most successful LMP2 car.
Chassis and engine orders pour in for 2012
Zytek Engineering is building on its championship winning season with plans unveiled recently showing that it will be busier than ever during 2012. Greaves Motorsport has shown faith in the chassis that took it to an LMP2 class victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours by announcing that it will run two cars, while a record number of enquiries have been received with regard to the Zytek developed and serviced Nissan LMP2 engine.
Repton prepared engines win every LMS round
Zytek Nissan-engined cars finished first and second in the LMP2 class at yesterday’s Six Hours of Estoril. The result capped a superb Le Mans Series season in which the 4.5-litre VK45DE power unit won its category at every round and in which the Greaves Motorsport Zytek-Nissan Z11SN claimed the team and driver’s championships with three victories from five races.
Greaves Motorsport secures LMP2 titles
Zytek Motorsport has won the Le Mans Series LMP2 Team and Drivers championships for a second time. When Tom Kimber-Smith took pole position for tomorrow’s Six Hours of Estoril race, he scored the single point necessary to secure the drivers’ title for himself and Karim Ojjeh and the team award for Zytek customer Greaves Motorsport.

OAK Racing’s hard work in the lead up to this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours paid off last night with all four OAK-Pescarolo prototypes – two each in LMP1 and LMP2 – demonstrating competitive pace during qualifying.
Faggioli has dominated the championship thus far, winning eight out of the last nine rounds.
Simone Faggioli won his second European Hill Climb title in as many years this weekend, utilising the 3.0-Litre KV engine. The Italian took the championship at Course de côte St. Ursanne-Les Rangiers, the ninth round of the twelve race series.
Increased lead in LMP2 drivers and teams championship
Quifel-ASM Team drivers Oliver Pla and Miguel Amaral have once again taken their Ginetta-Zytek to victory in the LMP2 class of a Le Mans Series round. As during the previous race in Portugal the pair were more than two laps ahead of their nearest rival at the end of the ADAC 1,000km of the Nürburgring.
Ginetta-Zyteks look for more wins in Germany
Zytek Motorsport plans to cap a highly successful few weeks at this Sunday’s ADAC 1,000km of the Nürburgring. In one month, a Ginetta-Zytek GZ09S has dominated its class in a round of the Le Mans Series; a hybrid version of the GZ09S has claimed the first ever podium place for a hybrid prototype while Zytek Automotive has been revealed as the operation responsible for developing the ground breaking KERS electric motor and power electronics that assisted Lewis Hamilton’s McLaren to a ground-breaking victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Zytek makes history with First ever overall podium for a hybrid in Le Mans-style race
The first ever podium place for a hybrid-powered car in a race featuring Le Mans-style prototypes has been scored by Zytek Engineering. All the more impressive is that the history-creating car, the Corsa Motorsports entered Ginetta-Zytek GZ09HS was making its debut in hybrid form.
