2013 Canadian Touring Car Championship
After confirming driver and television host Benoît Gagnon’s return to the line-up for the upcoming Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) season, the Lombardi Honda Racing Team announced today the recruitment of young driver Jérimy Daniel, who will be at the wheel of one of their Super Touring class Honda Civic Si’s for the duration of the season.

Giacomo Ricci is looking forward to the 2013 Auto Gp championship
The Italian-based racer, born on March the 30th, 1985 in Milan, has become one of the most experienced and competitive drivers of the European motorsports panorama. Last season, he drove for Team MLR71 and also joined them for postseason testing at Barcelona. He entered two rounds and ended up onto the podium twice, at Monza and Marrakech.

In the 2013 season, the race calendar of the planet’s most competitive young-gun series will comprise 10 race weekends in six European countries.
The season will be kicked off as early as on 23 and 24 March in Italy, with the season finale (26-27 October) being held in France. The hopeful Formula 3 talents will race in the support programme of WTCC, WEC and DTM races at tradition-rich motor-racing venues that always are attended by big crowds.

Honda is not ruling out a return to formula one in the future.
The Japanese carmaker pulled out of the sport after the 2008 season, amid the global financial crisis and the slump in new car sales. But Honda’s head of research and development Yoshiharu Yamamoto has told autocar.co.uk that the marque still sees F1 as an attractive platform.

2012 intercontinental calendar is confirmed
Auto GP keeps growing steadily: entering its third year, the Championship has changed its name to become Auto GP World Series. Not a big change in terms of wording, but an important update that reflects the intercontinental evolution that the Series undertook for 2012, as the Organization confirmed the expansion plan announced last September.

Tiago Monteiro finishes 5th and 6th in Suzuka qualifying sessions
Early Sunday Michel Nykjær claimed his career best result in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, when he won the privateer class in both rounds at the Japanese Grand Prix circuit Suzuka. On top of that he also gained his first overall top 3 position, when he mixed it among the dominant works cars from Chevrolet.

Barely out of his FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) SEAT Leon, which he used to bring home 16 points last weekend on the Hungaroring, Tiago Monteiro slid behind the wheel of the OAK Racing LMP1 to get ready for the 79th edition of the world’s most famous endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which starts Saturday, June 11 at 3:00 p.m.

Michel Nykjær performed, but got a puncture
Tiago Monteiro succeeded in his daring bid to secure two points finishes, bringing home a total of 16 points, in Hungary. For the fourth meeting of the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), the Portuguese SEAT Sun Red driver was still driving the old version of the SEAT León, powered by a TDI engine, which he managed to move up to finish in 7th place in the first race and 5th in the second.
Following the week-end’s race, here are the latest championship leaders progression. 
Loix celebrated his 41st birthday in his native Belgium last week. Although he has yet to finalise his programme for 2012 he says he has no intention of easing off the throttle.
